Butter Cookies

2 sticks of butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
3 tsp. vanilla
Cream together.
Add
3 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
Chill dough.
Roll to 1/4 inch thick.
Cut out and bake at 425 for 5-7 minutes.
